sour dough

Been having fun tring to figure out how to make sour dough. There sure is a lot of methods.  But I wanted one that would work for me and I think I found it... if the sentences are reambling that is because that is how I talk LOL!
Positive notes...Hubby went back for 3rd.
Negitie note...Next time I think I wil try my loaf stone pan.  the recipe said to lt. grease a cookie sheet and put 2 rounds on it. They actually spread about the full legneth of the sheet pan. I have only one stone so I don't know what I will do mini loaves would be nice also.?!?!?

new twist on pot of beans

don't know if this is new for others......... but frist time I came accrossed it!  And the family approved!     Bean cornbread cassarole  ok now for my adjustments, forgot the garlic powder it was great though, skipped the kidney. I guess on the amount of pinto/white beans that I had pre cooked. I had a contianer the size of a square baking pan full.  It worked just fine! Tomato sauce I had some home made spaghetti sacue left over so I used that. LOL had chili powder black pepper and perpared mustard. might of added a bit more as it fell in there! no hot sauce so I used 1/8 teaspoon red pepper.
had ap flour but from the recipe I could see it would be the same as self rising (baking powder/salt) so I  had some of sr flour that needed used up. sugar I added a little more (kids like that part) helps get the food down you know-mary popins I beleive said that. used powdered milk and didn't have cream stlye corn so I just use whole kerrnel corn.  well the two hours or MORE part... would be right in for this reason I made the beans up cooked for 45 min. poured the cornbread mix ontop and went to church had hubby turn it on and two hours the middle was still not cooked so we ate around it and am letting that cook.  They boys actually at it better than just plain beans and cornbread.

carring on

Live Cary's on and there has been a lot of that happening, a lot of very sick friends.  I made a few loafs of bread to cheer some up. A chocolate cake, 21 lb turkey, dressing and it was not my mamas! (that is a good thing) don't tell her! imitation rum fudge (a few lbs of that) more rolls, tortillas for wraps,ka-SA-de-ahs and taco chips.  Stain glass church windows  I think those were the easiest but made 12 logs!  have a big glass bowl put in 1 stick or 1/2 cut oleo, 1 pkg chocolate chips and put in the micro and nuke until melted 2 min. on the ole machine.  stir until fully melted dump in the pkg of colored marshmallows and stir.  NOW this is done a head of time put a sheet of tin foil down about 15 inches and on top of that a piece of wax paper.  now here is the frugal part one can divide this recipe into 2,3 or 4 logs.. so take the amount accordingly and dump on wax paper then fold up the two long ends and fold envelope style and tuck under the ends do the same with the tin foil and put in the frig  over night.  slice thin when you want to eat!  some people put coconut down before the dump but I don't like it so we omit that! Oh what else did I make? Turkey, turkey re-enactment my mom calls it.  Turkey sandwiches, turkey ka-sa-de-ahs, turkey soup, turkey chili and froze the rest unless i burn the whole crew out on turkey! venison in the slow cooker with buttery corn sticks and garlic bread was a good meal also. of course there was a can of spaghetti Os thrown in there with a pkg of cutup fried hot dogs. Egg sandwiches are a fast life saver when I am done with any cooking!

been busy carriing on... Dinner today...stuffed

Stuffed tuna shells and a salad and wrapped beans.   I can not follow a recipe to save my life...I used my homemade  white sauce and bread crumbs. I used turkey bacon because that is all we had. tasted great!
